Frequently Asked Questions

In-Pool Products

All of our in-pool products are safe for all pool surfaces, including vinyl liners. There are no sharp edges or corners that will tear or damage the liner in any way. Be careful about dragging your furniture on the deck; it could cause scuffs in the plastic that can become sharp if you aren’t cautious.

All of our in-pool products are designed to work in chlorine and saltwater pools. The material we use to make our products has been used and tested in the industry for decades. Salt water and chlorine are corrosive to metal and many natural stones, but our products are designed to withstand the harsh pool environment.

Yes, you can. Before you pull the pool cover over your pool, carefully move your in-pool Ledge Lounger products off your ledge and into the deeper water. Move with caution to avoid scuffing the bottom of your furniture. The products will float in the water and safely fit underneath any type of pool cover. The products can stay under the pool cover until you are ready to use your pool again. We recommend that you remove the furniture from the pool if temperatures are going to reach below freezing.

We offer risers that can be purchased to resolve water depth incompatibility with your chaise, chaise deep, or chair. These risers elevate the product slightly, making it suitable for deeper ledges.

Your chaise might be rocking due to an imbalance in the water distribution inside of the product. To address this, we recommend letting out approximately 2-3 inches of water from the upper back section.

To avoid mold, we recommend filling your products with treated pool water during installation. The chemicals you use within your pool to keep it clean are also helpful in preventing mold growth.

Yes, to ensure the longevity and performance of your products, we recommend temporarily taking them out of the pool while your pool is being shocked. Once the pool water has returned to a safe and balanced state, feel free to add your in-pool products back into the water.

Our cushions are not meant for use in the water. Keep them dry and enjoy lounging on the deck or lawn.

We currently only offer headrest pillows for our chaise loungers and they are incompatible with chairs. Since the chairs sit up straighter, you aren’t able to pair the pillows comfortably.

Absolutely, our in-pool products are designed to be easy to maintain. Most messes can be easily wiped away using water and a soft bristle brush or cloth. If you encounter calcium buildup, a calcium removal product can do the trick. For more thorough cleaning, consider using a mild household cleaner once a month.

White is the most popular color for our in-pool seating. Of course, the choice is up to you. You can choose from several different colors to create the look that best suits your own style.

On average, our in-pool chaise loungers are rated to withstand up to 400 lbs.

Occasionally, a deep cleaning of your in-pool Ledge Lounger product is necessary. Frequent usage, and even incorrect balances of pH and alkalinity, can cause scale and other residues (sunscreen, lotion, etc.) to adhere to the Ledge Lounger resin material. But, don’t worry- cleaning is easy!

We first recommend cleaning with water, then try a mild household cleaner, magic cleaning sponge, or a Calcium, Line and Rust cleaner. If an even deeper cleaning is needed, we recommend Bio-Dex 300 Swimming Pool Tile Cleaner. It can be purchased at most pool supply stores as well as Amazon.

In the event Bio-Dex 300 is required, perform the following steps:

  • Remove your Ledge Lounger product(s) from the pool and drain appropriately.
  • In a ventilated area, and utilizing proper PPE, apply Bio-Dex 300 to a soft scrubbing pad and scrub affected areas in a circular motion. Apply pressure and continued application of cleaner until desired results are achieved.
  • Once cleaned, rinse your Ledge Lounger product with clean water, and dry appropriately.

WARNING: Please follow all precautionary chemical labels. Bio-Dex is a harsh chemical and the utmost care and protection is advised. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. PPE can include, but is not limited to, heavy-duty rubber gloves and safety glasses.

If temperatures are going to drop below freezing and you are winterizing your pool, we recommend performing the following steps:

  • Drain your in-pool Ledge Lounger product(s) completely, and remove from the pool.
  • Store all in-pool Ledge Lounger products inside, or safely away from strong winds and inclement weather. If storing outside, cover product(s) with an industrial-grade plastic bag, or equivalent.

Draining the in-pool products is just as easy as filling them with water. Simply remove the plugs and position the product so that the water runs out. In a few short minutes, the product will be drained.

You should drain the water from your in-pool products once a pool season and replace with new, balanced and chlorinated water to ensure that the water inside the product is fresh and properly treated.

Our in-pool products are rated UV20, so UV rays won’t penetrate to the inside of them. Algae and water organisms can’t live without oxygen and light, so as long as the water put into the piece was properly balanced and chlorinated, the water will stay clean. To prevent unforeseen issues, we recommend you drain the furniture and refill it with new, balanced and chlorinated water once a pool season.

No, our in-pool products are specially made to stay in the water, even when not in use. They are designed to withstand the sun, weather, wind, and chemicals of the harsh outdoor and pool environment. They only need to be drained and removed in the instance of a freeze.

If your product is bobbing in the water, please refer to the installation guide for your product. Make sure that you have properly and completely filled the product with water and that all the air bubbles have been released from inside the product. Then if the product is still bobbing in the water, please re-measure your water depth to determine if you have the correct product designed for your pool’s water depth.

If you have the correct product for your water depth and the product was filled entirely with water, it should not move or bob in the water. Please reach out to our customer service team for further assistance.

Yes, you can easily purchase another plug here on our website. Or, if you’d prefer, reach out to our customer service team. We’d be happy to help!

Yes, after you fill the product with water we recommend inserting the plugs in order for all of the water to remain in the product. Use a large, flat head screwdriver to screw the plugs back into all open holes on the product. Make sure the plug is lining up straight with the threads in the holes. Once they are securely fastened, your product is ready to use.

No additional assembly is needed for in-pool products other than filling the products with water. Please refer to the installation guide for your product for help getting started. Need further assistance? Contact us.

Our in-pool products are not permanent fixtures; they stay in place due to the weight of the water inside of the product. We stress that specific water depth for each product is important so that the water weight inside the product is heavy enough for the water depth that it sits in. The products will stay in place and won’t bob or float around if they are completely filled with water, and placed in the correct water depth they are designed for.

Our in-pool products are designed to stay in one, fixed place on a pool’s tanning ledge, Baja step, or sun shelf. They are not designed to be used as a float, but they will not sink to the bottom if moved in deeper water to accommodate a pool cover. If the product is bobbing or floating around on a ledge, check to see that the product was properly filled with water and is being used in the correct water depth it was designed for.

We have found in most instances, that anytime there is an imbalance in the pool water, you can sometimes get scale on your in-pool products, which can be perceived as fading. This thin, white layer can be removed with some elbow grease and the proper cleaners. It’s more noticeable on some of the darker colors. First, follow our general cleaning guidelines. If a deeper clean is needed, you can use a calcium, lime, and rust cleaner or a strong tile cleaner.

All of our in-pool products are designed to be in and around water. We developed them to withstand the chemicals and UV rays of the harsh pool environment. Our products are rated UV20, meaning they can withstand up to 20,000 hours of direct, overhead sunlight. After 20,000 hours of direct sunlight, the colors could begin to fade. We have found that red and orange in-pool products have experienced fading when placed in water, therefore these two resin colors are not warrantied for in-pool use.

Water Depth

Water depth is important because each of our in-pool products is designed for a specific water depth. If used in a depth outside of the recommended range, the product will not work as intended. More specifically, if you were to place our in-pool furniture on a ledge deeper than our recommended depth, it is highly likely that the product will float.

To prevent this issue, we recommend confirming your ledge depth before finalizing your purchase. If it is discovered that your ledge is a bit too deep after your purchase, we recommend reaching out to a sales rep to get more information about adding a riser or exchanging your products.

Our in-pool products are each designed for a specific water depth. If used in a depth outside of the recommended range, the product will not work as intended. Our most popular in-pool products range from 0-15 inches of water. For the recommended water depths of each specific in-pool product, refer to the specific product page. If you don’t see the water depth listed on the product you are interested in for your pool, or aren’t sure what works in your pool, contact us.

Water depth is very important when choosing a Ledge Lounger in-pool product that will work properly in your space. Before taking the measurement, make sure your pool water is filled to its capacity. Then take a ruler/tape measure and place the tape’s end on the surface of the pool’s ledge. The height that the water hits the tape measure is your water depth. You can also refer to your pool’s design file from your pool builder to see the specific water depth for your ledge.

If you’re still not sure, ask your pool builder for assistance, or contact us.

If your water depth is above 9 inches, you would need a Riser to pair with the Chair. The Riser is a base that the Chair sits on in order to accommodate for the deeper water depth. Please contact us for more information here.

If your water depth is deeper than 15 inches, you would need a Riser to pair with the Chaise Deep. The Riser is a base that the Chaise Deep sits on in order to accommodate for the deeper water depth. Please contact us for more information here.

If you are interested in a product that doesn’t work for your water depth, you would need to pair the product with one of our Risers. We have a Riser for the Signature Chaise, Chaise Deep, and Chair to accommodate for various water depths. Please contact us for more information here.

Signature Collection

The Signature Collection is our trademark collection of in-pool furniture designed for in-water use on your pool’s tanning ledge, sun shelf, or Baja step. Be sure to review the in-pool FAQ section for more helpful information about using Ledge Lounger products in your pool.

These two products are identical, with the addition of a platform base on the Chaise Deep, and look exactly the same when used in the corresponding water depths they are designed for. The Signature Chaise is designed for shallow areas with water depths of 0-9 inches, while the Chaise Deep is designed for deeper areas with water depths of 10-15 inches or can be used on the deck. These two products will not work properly in water depths outside of what they are designed for. Please refer to the question on how to measure your water depth to determine which product will work for your pool.

You can certainly use the in-pool furniture on the deck, but you need to follow the same installation instructions as if they would go in the water.

Our Chaise and Chair Shades are removable, but are not designed to adjust up and down. They are fixed in one position that best shades the person lounging, without the need for adjustment. After testing we found that the fixed angle of the shades best accommodates the customer whether they are taking in the view, reading a book or using their electronic devices in the protected sleeve.

Please refer to this Signature Chaise specifications sheet for our suggested ledge length and layouts.
