FAQs

What is the difference between HDPE and LDPE resin?
HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) is known for its incredible strength-to-density ratio, making it rigid and highly resistant to impact. LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) is more flexible and resilient. Both are waterproof, UV-resistant, and 100% recyclable, ensuring your products withstand extreme weather without cracking or fading.
How do I clean Sunbrella and Frankford umbrella fabrics?
One of the best features of these world-renowned fabrics is how easy they are to maintain. For general cleaning, simply brush off loose dirt and use a mild soap and water solution. Because the fibers are solution-dyed, they are bleach-safe for stubborn mold or mildew, allowing you to deep clean without losing color vibrancy.
Are these materials resistant to fading and UV damage?
Absolutely. Our HDPE and LDPE resins contain UV stabilizers integrated into the material. Similarly, Sunbrella, Frankford, and Recacril fabrics are solution-dyed, meaning the color is saturated to the core of the fiber rather than just sitting on the surface. This prevents the "bleaching" effect caused by intense sunlight. For more information on our materials, visit our Materials page.
Why are these considered the most durable materials for outdoor use?
We select these materials because they are engineered to be non-porous and weather-hardy. They do not rot, splinter, or absorb moisture, which is essential for preventing bacterial growth. Whether it’s the industrial strength of the resins or the marine-grade quality of the fabrics, they are built to last for decades, not just seasons. For more information on our materials, visit our Materials page.
Can these materials withstand coastal or salt-air environments?
es, these materials are specifically engineered for marine and coastal climates. Our HDPE and LDPE resins are non-corrosive and will not rust or degrade when exposed to salt spray. Likewise, our fabrics are mold and mildew resistant, making them the gold standard for beachside resorts and oceanfront homes.
Do these resins require painting or staining over time?
Never. The color in our HDPE and LDPE resins is consistent throughout the entire material. Unlike wood or metal, there is no surface coating to chip, peel, or flake off. This "solid-core" color ensures that even if the material is scratched, the blemish remains virtually invisible and the product never needs refinishing.
How do these materials handle extreme temperature changes?
These high-performance materials are designed to expand and contract naturally without losing structural integrity. Whether facing freezing winter temperatures or blistering summer heat, the resins will not become brittle or crack, and the fabrics remain flexible and soft to the touch.
